Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough—or you’re beyond relaxed already—you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

There are two things to consider when looking at intensities:

Lying on spikes is weird, so we made sure this is the perfect place to start. Expect a balance of initial discomfort and deep release. Ideal for anyone new to acupressure.Level 2
For the bold and brave. Fewer spikes = more discomfort, so commit to pushing through to unlock the deeper release on the other side if you are contemplating Level 2.Level 3
Our deepest release isn’t the last stop on your journey—it’s only for the most experienced. Expect a serious sensation to start, with plenty of reward if you can handle it. -

I think the pillow is a great concept but I wish it was a little smaller, I feel like my head is too high off the ground. I think the other pillow would have suited me more. Comes down to preference I think

Really glad I decided to purchase the pillow alongside the mat, the shape is perfect to get into the spots of my neck that have the most tension. Each time I’ve used it I’ve felt immense relief. It doesn’t take much time to adjust to the initial discomfort from the spikes.

I really feel the spikes in my neck when I first lay on my pillow, even more so than the spikes on my mat in my back. However, once I relax into the sensations, they transform into a kind of warm sensation that is deeply relaxing.
