Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough—or you’re beyond relaxed already—you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

Paid for express postage to get by a certain date, label wasnt even created until I should have received and not posted for another day. All complaints were ignored and closed without response. Do not pay for express postage, and if you have any complaints don't expect a response. I won't purchase from Shakti again as I prefer to spend my money where customer service actually exists.

Love my mat! Have had one from another company before but of a lower profile. Purchased a level 3 mat because I needed more of a challenge and loved it from first use! The only time in a day that I am still and calm! Highly recommend for stress relief and aches and pains from sitting all day! Love it!

The spikes can definitely feel intense at first, but that sensation usually softens over time as your body and mind learn that it’s safe to let go of built-up muscle tension, similar to a deep-tissue massage.
To ease into it, we recommend wearing a thin T-shirt during your next sessions. Exploring our free Shakti Shala app for guided meditations and classes can also help you settle in more gently. We also offer a 60-day returns policy if it still doesn’t feel right for you.

This mat was a gift for my best friend and her husband. I have had my mat for a couple years now, and I cannot live without it. I use it mostly at night, at bedtime, two or three times a week. My practice is usually for 20 minutes and I consistently fall asleep while using it. I suffer from moderate anxiety and this mat is essential for deep sleep and relaxation before I turn in. Wonderful product.
