To clean the Premium Acupressure Mat, remove the Blissfoam™ and hand-wash the cotton cover in warm soapy water, using a soft brush to clean the spikes. Rinse and hang to dry in the shade. Once dry, re-insert the Blissfoam™, ready for your next Shakti practice.
Store out of the sun, as UV rays can cause the color to fade. Keep out of reach of pets and children.

A little, but only in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

Ik dacht eerst; ik ben een beginner, maar het mag wel uitdagend genoeg zijn. Ik was van plan om niveau 2 te nemen, maar gelukkig deed ik de Shakti Mat Quiz op de website. Dat is zeker een aanrader om te zien welk level bij jou past! Ik kwam uit op niveau 1 en toen de vrolijke oranjegele mat aankwam, bleek al snel dat ik heel blij was dat ik niet voor niveau 2 was gegaan! Ik moet zelf nog wel een beetje wennen, het evenwicht tussen spanning en ontspanning vinden. Er is ook een app beschikbaar die je erdoor loodst. Behalve het feit dat mijn het verlichting in mijn rug geeft, is het ook fijn als je zoals mij ADHD hebt en zoveel prikkels tegelijk binnenkrijgt. Dan ben je even helemaal in het nu. Mijn man en ik doen soms een wedstrijdje met de timer, om ter langste blijven liggen op de mat en ik ben momenteel aan de winnende hand!

Vrijwel dagelijks voor het slapen gebruik ik hem en ik geniet van het proces waar ik doorheen ga - soms pulsen, soms juist pijn die toe- en dan weer afneemt, dieper ademhaling.

I have been using the mat 4 times a week for 2 weeks, and have not seen any changes to shoulder and back muscle relief, I still find it quiet uncomfortable for the 23 mins.

It can take some time to get comfortable with the sensation, so you could try shorter sessions and ease in with a thin layer of clothing or even use the Mat on a sofa to reduce the intensity as you gradually build your tolerance.

Still in the first week of use and getting used to the initial shock of laying down on my mat. Only takes a few minutes to get comfortable now.
By the time I end my session 20-30min later, I’m feeling relaxed and on my way to an amazing sleep. It really does set up for a deeper sleep than I’ve had in a long while.
Only part that hasn’t gotten any easier is the “dismount” from the mat. It is a very sharp moment of discomfort/pain when separating from the mat. I really hope this isn’t always the case! Still going back for more the next day.
It’s a terrible, wonderful experience that I can’t stop doing!
