Shakti Mat is committed to making shaktimat.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, magnify the screen, or use other assistive technology. This is an ongoing effort for us, not something we finish once.

What we're doing

We're guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we use them as the reference point for our design and development decisions.

We check our site with automated testing tools and by hand, including keyboard-only navigation and screen readers. Accessibility is part of how we review new pages and features before they go live, so problems get caught as we build rather than only in periodic reviews.

We're also working through a set of improvements to existing pages, covering image descriptions, keyboard access, captions on video, color contrast, and heading structure.

Where we know we fall short

We haven't got everything right yet. The areas we're actively working on include:

• Some older images and downloadable documents
• Some video content that doesn't yet have captions
• Some content supplied by other companies, such as embedded reviews and payment tools, where we don't control the code. We raise problems with those providers as we find them.

This list will change as we fix things and as we find new issues.
