    I can’t lie. The first few times my experience was a bit prickly. But after those beginning moments the relaxing results were well worth the initial discomfort.     Acute Relief

    TL;DR highly recommend for particular aches and pains, and for people who have patience and can set up the right environment to make the most of the delicate process of acupressure.

    The site descriptions, disclaimers, and reviews helped set my expectations for the effects of the acupressure so I've really quite enjoyed using it with increasing duration and frequency. I have a high pain tolerance so I chose the second level for my first purchase. I sometimes have trouble sleeping and often wake up with a crick in my lower side neck no matter what cervical pillows or lotions or compresses I use. I find it hard to relax into massages likely because of the discomfort with another person manipulating my body; the key to acupressure is also relaxing all muscles (especially ones you don't think are affected directly like jaw, face, legs, hands) and breathing deeply through the pain as it fades.

    The first morning after using the Shakti pillow for only about 10-12 minutes the night before was my first morning of relief in months! It lasted all day, too. I'm definitely supplementing it with posture exercises, but I've gradually increased pillow use to 20+ minutes (I even fell asleep on it last night for about 2 hours before I roused enough to set it aside and actually go to sleep). I think I've also noticed that I clench my jaw less in my sleep after using the Shakti pillow before bed.
