Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough—or you’re beyond relaxed already—you won’t feel much.
After a few minutes, the tingling sensation fades into a deep, relaxing warmth. The redness is purely a circulation boost. You might even fall asleep.

It’s everything it says it is. I got it as a gift for my partner and we just fight over it every night (or rather, I tap my foot and wring my hands until it’s my turn). It’s so invigorating and “hurts so good!”
I got level two as my first one because we’re both big people with high pain tolerance and at this price, I didn’t want to have to level up anytime soon. It’s GREAT. Took a few days for my partner to build stamina. His is better than mine now, but… he gets first dibs :)

My first few experiences with my Shakti may have been painfully blissful. It is as advertised. At first it is painful, then transitions to uncomfortable, then morphs into blissful. I’ve almost fallen asleep a few times when lying on it. Give it 20min and I think you’ll be convinced.

The first night I used the Shakti mat I really enjoyed it and felt totally relaxed after a few minutes, however I just can’t get used to the deep breathing method on the App. I’m keeping at it but I think it will take some practice. In the meantime I’m focusing on relaxing and clearing my mind with my own breathing technique.

I use my Shakti mat every single night and I don't know how I would live without it. I'm having surgery at the end of this summer and I'm very sad that I won't be able to use it for a while. I'm looking forward to getting back into the routine after I heal. But until then I will use it every single day. I wake up with my nervous system regulated, which is a tall order for somebody with an autoimmune disease
