What you need to know

The Shakti Headband targets key acupressure points around the sides and back of the head to help you:
• Relieve mild headaches

There are two key ways to use your Headband:
1. Across the centre of your forehead to relieve head tension
2. Under your chin with the spikes targeting tension in your jawA light wrap is all you need for each spike to get started. Wear it for at least 15 minutes and let all that tension melt with each breath.
If you already own a Shakti Mat or Pillow, adding your Headband to your practice is a great meditation aid. You can also use it for a deeper savasana, or mental clarity at your WFH space.
Pro tip
• Take the pressure up a notch by wrapping the Headband under the base of your skull and resting your occipital bone on a yoga block.
• Experiment with the intensity once you’re used to the sensation by tightening or loosening the strap

Pressing spikes into your face might look like the opposite of relaxing, but the Headband is designed to provide subtle pressure. There will be a slight sensation in the beginning, but that’s completely normal. Acupressure doesn’t work if you can’t feel it.
Circulation will increase and you’ll feel tension “let go” as pressure lifts from your head.

Shakti Headbands have Level 1 spikes. Why? Because wrapping spikes is different to lying on them. You can adjust the intensity with compression as opposed to relying on gravity alone. Perfect whether you want to increase the intensity of each spike—or ease off for a therapeutic touch.

I am a big fan of the mat and so I decided to treat myself to the headband as well. Unfortunately I have not really felt a lot of relaxation from wearing the band... Maybe I am wearing it the wrong way. Haven't really figured out how tight I should wrap it around my head either.
Delivery was quick and the product itself looks good, it's just the effect that has disappointed me a bit so far.

Try wearing it lightly across your forehead to ease tension or under your chin to release the jaw. A gentle wrap for at least 15 minutes usually helps the spikes work their magic. I applied for a return because the headband was too painful for me to tolerate and I received no email or return slip. Therefore, I cannot return my item and wasted another $30 chasing another product I thought would help relieve my headaches and migraines.

I am a neurodivergent woman and my thoughts are all over the place sometimes. Is it the burden of being s mother, being on the spectrum or just.... being? I don't know. Anyway, this helps me focus on the moment, on the pain and the relief afterwards.
